Managed Backup for M365

Warning: Microsoft does NOT back up your data!

Microsoft has made it quite clear that each organisation is responsible for its own data: ‘Your data, your control, and your responsibility’.

Microsoft provides “version history” and the ability to restore a document but this does not mean that Microsoft is backing up your data. Microsoft has different retention policies; anything not within the policy is not recoverable.

Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure your data is being backed up. BMIT can help.

Our managed backup solution includes storage, infrastructure, the necessary backup license as well as monitoring and alerting of storage limits and back up job failures.

On top of that, our team of expert engineers will configure, maintain and manage the setup of the solution.

Managed Backup

Reduce the workload on your IT team: To back up your data you need storage, the infrastructure to process the backup tasks and resources to monitor these tasks. Let BMIT’s skilled engineers take over and address those needs. Save time and money.

Retention Policies

Our experts have created defined retention policies so that you do not have to. As part of our offering, we apply policies designed to balance storage and restore points to be able to recover the required items at a particular timestamp.

Scalable Solution

As your business and data needs grow, you need be able to scale your backup capabilities. With BMIT’s versatile and scalable solution, you can upgrade the plan or purchase additional storage or support as required.

What's included?

Each user is assigned an amount of storage based on the plan subscribed to by the organisation. This amount is added to a storage pool for the organisation’s subscription. The limits apply per organisation and NOT per user. Additional storage can be added as needed.

A default retention policy is available per plan per organisation. The defined retention policy will be assigned according to the plan chosen. The minimum number of years is configured to meet the retention documents requirement set out by local and European regulators.

BMIT Technologies engineers will create a tenant for the organisation on the BMIT infrastructure. You will provide the credentials to connect with your Microsoft tenant and other information that may be necessary. Once the configuration is completed, an initial run is started.

Our engineers will monitor the initial run and report on its progress and any failures, as necessary. They will also alert you if storage limits are about to be reached and / or when backup jobs fail.
